Reader information / Browser storage

Cookies on This Site

The journal’s page features do not need advertising trackers or a saved contact draft to work.

What cookies and local storage do

Cookies are small pieces of information a website can ask your browser to store and send with later requests. Local storage is a separate browser feature that can retain information for a site without automatically attaching it to every request. Both may be used for preferences or tracking, depending on their purpose.

The journal’s own features

The supplied editorial page code does not set cookies or use localStorage or sessionStorage. Navigation state, scroll reveals and the enquiry preview exist in the current page’s memory. The site does not include analytics scripts, advertising tags, social-media embeds or externally hosted fonts.

Any separately provided consent controls are distinct from the editorial page features. Where such controls store a choice, that storage should be limited to remembering your preference and described by the control itself. Optional technologies should not be activated merely because you continue browsing.

Browser features are separate

Your browser may cache files, suggest previously entered details or restore form values when you return to a page. These functions are not a saved draft created by the enquiry tool. Clipboard history and downloaded messages can also remain on your device after you leave the site.

If you use a shared device, clear sensitive form entries and remove any copied or downloaded message when you finish. Do not include information you would not want retained by your browser or device.

External services

Reference links open third-party websites only when you choose to visit them. Those sites may use their own cookies and storage under their own policies. Ordinary hosting and network delivery may process technical information independently of browser storage; see How Data Is Handled.

Your controls

You can inspect and remove cookies and site data through your browser’s privacy settings. Most browsers also let you restrict third-party cookies, clear autofill entries and manage downloads. Clearing site data may reset preferences maintained by any separately provided consent controls.

Keeping this information current

If optional technology is introduced, the storage information and relevant choices should be updated before that technology is used. This page describes the editorial site features and should be read alongside any storage information shown by separately provided site controls.
